WINONA, Minn. — An administrator at North Hennepin Community College is being imported o run Minnesota State College Southeast this coming year. Derrick Lindstrom will be interim president of Southeast, which has campuses in Winona and Red Wing. The appointment was announced by state colleges Chancellor Scott Olson in St. Paul. Over the comng the college wll be searching for a permanent oresident. An earlier search failed to find a successor to retiring Southeast President Marsha Danielson. Lindstrom holds a degree from St. John’s, an advanced degree from Minnesota State, Mankato, and a doctorate from St. Cloud State. He began college teaching at Minneapolis College, St. Cloud State, and St. Benedict and St. John’s. Later he was provost for Inver Hills Community College and interim president at Minnesota College. He’s been at North Hennepin Community College since 2014 and currently is dean of liberal arts and culture. Chancellor Olson said Lindstrom establish systems thatstrengthen accountability, accreditation readiness, and long-term sustainability. He also helped pioneer the Minnesota State Z-Degree project, Olson noted.
