ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota State colleges president, Scott Olson, plans to name a temporary president for State College Southeast rather than restart a search for a permanent president immediately. Olson cancelled the original search after a lukewarm faculty response to four finalists at the twin-campus Winona-Red Wing college. Olson told faculty at the time: “I wanted it to be somebody that you were really excited about, the community was really excited about, that I was really excited about.” Since then Olson has been mulling over nine applications for the interim — probably all next academic year while a search for a permanent president is relaunched.
