SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A South Dakota Air National Guard fighter jet’s front landing gear collapsed in landing at the Sioux Falls airport. The pilot escaped through the cockpit canopy. He was not hurt seriously. The crash was about 2:45 p.m. The Guard said the plane, an F-16, was on a routine training mission. The crash was at Foss Field, which the Guard shares with commercial and general aviation.
