ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is waiving day-use fees at its 2,800 recreation areas nationwide November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. The waiver covers fees for boat launch ramps and swimming beaches. On the barge-navigable Upper Mississippi, all but these ramps are closed for the season:
> Pool 9: Bad Axe, near Harpers Ferry.
> Pool 9: Blackhawk.
> Pool 9: Millstone.
> Pool 10: Jays Lake, near Guttenberg.
