WINONA, Minn. –The Chamber of Commerce alerted merchants that counterfeit $100 hills are being passed around town. Three merchants have been stiffed in recent days, the Chamber said. The bank that rejected the bills in daily merchant deposits said they were clumsy fakes — no watermarks, no security strips, and with an undersize image of Benjamin Franklin.
