WINONA, Minn. – The women’s apparel chain Christopher & Banks is closing its Winona Mall store and most if not all of its 448 other sites nationwide. Keri Jones, chief executive, confirmed that the company is has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Jones said the company tried but was unable to weather losses due to the CoVid pandemic. Meanwhile, two things are happening: First, the search for a buyer continues. Second, liquidation has begun. The company, based in Plymouth, Minnesota, has been operating 65 years and has been a long-term tenant at Winona Mall.
