BLUE EARTH, Minn. – A bar owner was charged with violating Gov. Tim Walz’ order against sit-down service in bars and restaurants. The case was believed to be the first criminal charge of its sort. Charged was David Marvin Schuster, 56, owner of Shooter’s Bar. Police said Schuster and three other men were drinking and paying cards. Schuster was belligerent and called the governor’s order “communism,” police said. The charge: violating an emergency powers order. The punishment: As many as 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. Walz’ order was issued last week to slow the spread of COVID-19.
