WINONA, Minn.– A University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire administrator, Darrell Newton, has been named chief academic officer at Winona State University. Newton had been at UW-Eau Claire three years. Earlier he was at Salisbury University on Maryland’s eastern shore. Newton holds a doctorate in communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Earlier degrees are in English and mass communication from UW-Milwaukee. At Winona he succeeds Ted Reilly, who had been acting provost since the resignation of Patricia Rogers. She left to become president of UW-Superior.
