MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin System shifted $1.3 million to programs to give 1,400 freshmen a summer head-start on college. Called a “bridge,” the programs will help students transition to college academically and mentally, according to System President Tommy Thompson. He said that college-prep has not been as complete lately due to the pandemic.
