CLAM LAKE, Wis. –Five elk hunters filled their bull-elk tags this hunting season, the state wildlife agency announced. For the first time the season included the 500-square mile Clam Lake Elk Range south of Ashland. It was at Clam Lake that the season’s first bull elk was taken. The state Natural Resources Department has counted the Clam Lake herd at 300 from a long-term project to rebuild the state’s bull elk herd.
