AUSTIN, Minn. – A car reported stolen in Winona was recovered in Mower County with no one inside. Nor in the car were three weapons that were reported being stored in the vehicle. In Winona, police quoted the vehicle owner as having loaned the car to a friend earlier in the day. The owner said he was storing an AK-47, an AR-15 and a .12 gauge shotgun inside the vehicle for a different friend. Authorities in Mower County found the unoccupied vehicle 85 miles away around 11 p.m.
