LACROSSE, Wis. – La Crosse-based City Brewing has been sold to an investment consortium. The consortium includes a corporate entity connected to former owner Pabst Brewing, which had retained a major share pf the ownership.  City Brewing has 700 employees in La Crosse. The deal, City Brewing announced, keeps LaCrosse as its headqurters with no changes except those triggered by the retirement of chief executive George Parke III. City Brewing also owns breweries in Pennsylvania and Tennessee. An in-process City acquisition of fourth brewery, in Irwindale, California, is unaffected, the company said. The announcement also said its new consortium owners plan to spend $630 million to accelerate the company’s growth and expand capacity.
