BLUE EARTH, Minn. – U.S. Rep. Jim Hagedorn, R-Minn., confirmed he has been treated for Stage 4 kidney cancer the past year. Hagedorn said he feels great. He vowed to perform his Congressional duties unimpeded, noting that had not missed a single House vote due to illness. “This disease has not and will not deter me. I will keep fighting cancer and fighting for America and the people of southern Minnesota,” he said. He did not explain why he had delayed sharing his diagnosis for almost a year. The diagnosis, he said, was detected unexpected during a routine exam at Mayo Clinic.  There had been no advance symptoms, he said.
