DEPERE, Wis. – State Senator André Jacque, R-DePere, who was in a Covid ventilator for almost a month, was discharged from the hospital. A spokesperson said Jacque has “a ways to go” in respiratory and occupational therapy but is “feeling good mentally, breathing well, and making substantial progress toward regaining his health.” Jacque had been hospitalized since August 17. As a senator Jacque had been skeptical about Covid vaccinations and wore masks only irregularly. His wife, Renee however, equivocated in a statement on his release from the hospital: “While vaccination is a personal choice, I ask that those individuals who are eligible and able to receive the Covid vaccine, please consider placing their trust in the medical professionals who recommend it. These professionals and their peers, are those whom we have also placed our trust in to care for my husband.”
