WHITEHALl, Wis. —Two people were injured in a head-on crash west of Whitehall. One driver was severely injured and flown to a hospital. The other driver suffered lesser injuries and was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance. Without explanation Trempealeau County Sheriff Erica Koxlief declined to release names. The crash was about 9:50 p.m. where State Highway 121 and County Road QQ intersect — near the Canadian National rail crossing. Deputies said a Ford Fusion was traveling east toward Whitehall but in the westbound lane. Going west toward Independence was a Chrysler Pacifica.
