MOORHEAD, Minn. – Layoffs to trim Minnesota State University Moorhead faculty by 14% may be cushioned by early retirements. University President Anne Blackhurst said that some $25,000 buyouts will be offered. Depending on how many accept, it’s possible some layoffs won’t happen, she said. The buyouts also will be offered to select administrators and staff. Of the university’s 632 employees, 66 positions are being eliminated. Forty-three are faculty.
