WINONA, Minn. – The Winona Daily News named educator Jolene Dana its 2021 Person of the Year. In a Page One announcement, reporter Rachel Mergen lauded Danca as “a mom, principal and business owner.” Danca was nominated by fitness instructor Brittany Moncrief and fitness club member Laurie Jackels, both of whom work  at Euraxia, a Winona business that Danca owns. They also work with Danca at the Winona Schools, where she is principal of the Adult Learning Center. In their nomination papers, Moncrief and Jackels said Danca “has inspired thousands of students over her 20 years in education and will continue to change the lives of many more.” Danca, also, owns the start-up business Scrappin’ on the Ranch in an old barn near Pickwick. She has converted the barn into a retreat for crafters. She lives in Pickwick with teen-age sons Riley and Logan.
