WINONA, Minn. – Police captured a Wabasha County man who led police on an 18-mile chase on the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi.  Arrested was Christopher Michael Brown, 41. He was jailed on a hold from Wabasha County for a drug-related probation violation. The chase began north of Cochrane on Highway 35 for erratic driving and excessive speed, Wisconsin authorities said. Brown took off south on 35. Fourteen miles later he turned at Bluff Siding to Winona.  Alerted to the chase, Winona police set out a tire-puncturing strip to slow him down as he crossed into Minnesota. Brown drove around the spike strip, but police stopped him at downtown at Fourth and Winona Streets. He was booked about 8 a.m.
