WINONA, Minn. – The community-building group Engage Winona appointed librarian Marcia Ratliff as executive director. She succeeds Brian Voerding, who co-founded Engage Winona in 2016 but left recently for a similar post in Little Falls, Minnesota. Most recently Ratliff has been youth services at the Winona public library. Earlier she was a reporter at the Winona Daily News. Josiah Litant, president of Engage Winona’s governing board. called Ratliff “an incredibly creative, insightful, and vibrant leader with strong skills in community-building, inclusive practice, and placemaking.” Radliff’s experience includes a Peace Corps tour in South Africa. She has been in Winona 10 years. Ratliff holds a degree from Winona State University and has been a volunteer with the Winona Fine Arts Commission.
