LACROSSE, Wis. – A blizzard was due to bear down on southeast Minnesota about 9 p.m., the National Weather Service reported. One to three inches of new snow will be carried in from the west. The heaviest winds and snow were expected in Olmsted, Fillmore, Mower and Dodge counties and western Winona County. Expect gusts of 40 and 50 mph. Blowing and drifting snow will reduce visibility significantly, forecasters said. The blizzard warning was posted through Wednesday noon.
