DES MOINES, Iowa – FBI agents swooped into a south Des Moines house and arrested a man who they say terrorized a Capitol Police officer during the pro-Trump siege of the U. S. Capitol. Douglas Jensen, 41, was among the first 40 arrested in a nationwide round-up of rioters. Jensen was booked on five federal charges, including trespassing and disorderly conduct. He was held without bond. Jensen knew the FBI was coming for him. On Thursday, the day after the siege, he posted a seven-second TikTok video that he was being made a “poster boy” for what happened. “Don’t believe the news,” he said. An initial news check of Iowa court documents yielded only that once was charged with drunken driving.
The evidence
Video during the storming of the Capitol showed a man who appears to be Jensen forcing a Capitol Police officer up an interior flight of stairs. The mob trailed several steps behind, closing in on the backward-retreating officer. The mob was white, the officer black At several points, the baton-waving officer says, “Get back.” The crowd kept forcing the officer further up the stairs flight after flight. Finally other officers showed up behind the threatened officer and rescued him. Other news images during the rioting show the man who appears to be Jensen wearing a stocking cap and a QAnon T-shirt over a hooded sweatshirt. QAnon is a false conspiracy theory that heroizes Trump.
