MINNEAPOLIS — -A man who claimed to be “a prophet named Genghis Khan” and caused a flight from New York to San Francisco to be diverted to Minneapolis has been charged for carrying 24.5 grams of cocaine. There are other charges too. Arrested when the plane landed Sunday was Mark Anthony Scerbo, 42, of Mechanicville, New York. Passengers said that Scerbo was walking up and down the aisle with a butter knife in his fist and snorting white powder that he shook from a baggie. According to the criminal complaint and passenger interviews: He refused to wear a mask and was smelly. He yelled racial and sexist slurs and touched at least one woman where he shouldn’t have. He was singing loudly and doing yoga-like yet aggressive movements in people’s faces. He kept talking about a “peace army.” The charges were filed in federal court.

A flight to remember. Jet Blue operates eight JFK-SFO flights daily. Flight 915 departed New York at 2 p.m.
