ROCHESTER, Minn. – A store detective at the southside Menards called police about a shoplifter, but the thief was gone when police arrived. The store had a description and a side note: The man had a large knife in his waistband. Police traced the man to 2613 Elm Cross Drive Southwest. Inside a garbage can they found a man curled up. It appeared, they said, that he was protecting something in his waistband. The man refused to get out the garbage can, but complied after being tasered twice, police said. In his waistband was a large knife. Charged with burglary was Romario Luke, 26, of Rochester.
