ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Minnesota Republican Party chose Rochester for its 2022 state convention. Jennifer Carnahan, state party chair, said the convention would be May 13 and 14 at the Mayo Civic Center. About 2,200 delegates are expected, she said. The purpose: To endorse candidates for the statewide offices on the fall 2022 ballot. The party had planned to hold its 2020 state convention in Rochester but instead went online because of the Covid pandemic.  The last time the Republicans held their state convention in Rochester was 2014.
