- PAUL, Minn. — Gov. Tim Walz ordered Minnesotans to stay home through April 10 in response to the global COVID-19 virus crisis. Walz had lagged behind many other governors in declaring a state-widen lock-down. His decision, Walz said, was based on new projections from health experts that 70,000 Minnesotans could die without further action to slow the spread of the virus. Allowable exceptions included buying groceries and dealing with emergencies.
