ST.PAUL, Minn. – Households eligible for the Minnesota Energy Assistance Program will grow to 600,000 this heating season, the state Department of Commerce announced. Last winter 116,000 qualified. There is new federal funding available, the agency said. Under revised rules, eligible are households whose income ranges from $35,000 for one person to $67,00 for four persons. Benefit are to up to $1,600 for energy bills plus up to $1,200 for past-due energy bills.
