WINONA, Minn. – Sheriff Ron Ganrude wants to ride again with the Winona County mounted posse. Ganrude put out a call for new members. The posse was the brainchild of former Sheriff Dave Brand in 2000, but membership has slipped to only six. The uniformed  riders are show-stopper in parades, but they also train regularly for searches and rescues in tough terrain.The posse went to Wabasha County this year for a search in a homicide case. The posse also helped find a drowning victim near Dresbach. Qualifications: Members must have a horse, a trailer, and something to pull the trailer.
