STEWARTVILLE, Minn. – A Rochester woman was injured critically when she was thrown from a horse and kicked in a remote area along the North Branch of the Root River. Rescuers had to cross the river, northeast of Stewartville, to bring the woman out. She then was carried on a four-wheeler to Maple Valley golf course, where a medical helicopter was waiting. She was flown 10 miles to a Rochester hospital. She was in and out of consciousness the whole time, deputies said.
