WINONA, Minn. – All the fuss over a Winona State and Kwik Trip plan to re-do the area at Huff and Sarnia street had an upside, said neighborhood organizer Jerry Windley-Daoust. The plan brought the neighborhood together, he said. Windley-Daoust cited an outdoor meeting, a few Zoom meetings, and lots of emails and leaflets. A letter against the proposal was signed by 160 people against the proposal. “It just goes to show what people can accomplish when we work together.”

Windley-Daoust. “Our house would have been just across the street from 20 fuel pumps. We have bedrooms right on the street, so we were anticipating a lot of noise and light in our bedroom and our kids’ bedroom all night long.”
