WASHINGTON – The House voted 415-14 to designate June 19 as a new national holiday to commenorate the 1865 date when Abraham Lincoln’s declaration of freedom for slaves became belatedy effective nationwid. All memers of te Minnesota delegations were in favor. Those against were all conservative Reoublican white men, including Tifanny of Wisconsin. The bill now goes to President Biden to be signed into law.
