ROCHESTER, Minn. – A routine traffic stop led to a huge drug cache of Oxycodone and meth believed from a Mexican drug cartel. There were two police hauls. On Sunday night an officer pulled over a suspected impaired driver. In the car police found five pounds of methamphetamine, 4,000 suspected Oxycodone pills and two handguns. The driver, Matthew Lyman, 47, of Mantorville, was arrested. Two days later, with a search warrant, police raided a house in the 2100 block of 18-1/2 Avenue Northwest and found nine pounds of meth. Arrested at the house were Douglas Howard, 57, and Ann Jessen-Ford, also 57. A police spokesperson said the drugs likely were from Mexico.The quantity, the spokesperson said, suggested a “high level of drug dealing.” What was the haul worth on the street? An ounce of meth usually is $700. A quantity discount puts a pound at $6,000. Oxycodone locally is $10 to $15 per pill.
