ST. PAUL, Minn. – The state wildlife agency altered deer hunters to mandatory chronic wasting disease requirements in some parts of the state. In most southeast Minnesota counties, yearlings and older must be submitted. The season opens Saturday. The Natural Resources Department predicted 400,000 hunters will be in the field by dawn.

Deer tracking zones.   Yellow and gray areas are where the  DNR is trying to control  the Deer Zombie epidemic, otherwise known as chronic wasting  disease.  Zones with black borders have restrictions on carcass transport.
