HOLMEN, Wis. – A Level 3 charge station for electric vehicles was dedicated at the new Kwik Trip in north Holmen — the first in Wisconsin. The Level 3 device is three times faster than older chargers. It takes only two to six minutes to add 40 miles of battery range. The chief executive of Dairyland Power, Brent Ridge, said that Level 3 chargers address what he calls “range anxiety,” a near home phenomenon. Between 10% and 25% of all charging when drivers top off on the way home. North Holmen is an expanding LaCrosse residential area.
