LA CROSSE, Wis. – The La Crosse Common Council voted unanimously to hire two law firms to proceed against chemical manufactures of “forever chemicals” that have poisoned wells on French Island. The law firms.
> Crueger & Dickinson, of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin which has experience against opioid manufacturers.
> Napoli Shkolnik, of New York, which has experience with rural water issues.
Meanwhile, a LaCrosse lawyer, Tim Jacobson, of Fitzpatrick, Skemp & Butler, is representing 130 citizens of the French Island town of Campbell. It is Campbell wells on French Island that have been contaminated by “forever chemicals.” Presumably the Campbell contamination is from the LaCrosse airport, where “forever chemical” foam was used in firefighting training decades ago. The City of LaCrosse has owned the airport since 1946. About the Campbell suit, Mayor Tim Kabat asked Jacobson to join the new city initiatives against chemical manufacturers.
