WINONA Minn. – Aquatic plants have their cycles in Lake Winona. The late Winona State University biologist Cal Fremling tracked a series of seven species that come and retreat, each for only a few days or a couple weeks at most. This is the prime season for nymphaecase, known to most of us as the water lily.
