ROCHESTER, Minn. – A Rochester man told a judge he was innocent of charges that he held a homeless woman captive for several weeks and repeatedly raped her. Scott Ramey, 57 was charged in January with first-degree criminal sexual conduct. In the new court appearance, Ramey waived his right to an evidentiary hearing, in effect demanding a speedy trial. The judge has until mid-April to schedule a trail. The charge stemmed from a complaint by a 20-year-old homeless woman. She told police that Ramey approached her at Central Park in downtown Rochester in November and took her to a storage shed near Cook Park. She said he showed her a gun, a knife, and a can of mace rape. There followed, she said, seven more rapes until she escaped, returned to her father’s home, and contacted police.

Ramey. Woman says he confined her in a shed near Cook Park on Cascade Creek in northwest Rochester.
