WINONA, Minn. – A Winona man, Brently Steven Johnson, 57, was arrested for bad checks at the Kwik Trip convenience store at Huff and Sarnia and Dollar Tree budget shop at the Westgate strip mall. There was shoplifting reported also at Dollar Tree. Police said he also had attempted to use a bad check at the Hy-Vee grocery store. Police said they found Johnson at Sugar Loaf Liquor about 3 p.m. with a stolen checkbook. Pending charges: forgery, theft, trespassing.
