MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The director of Marquette Law School Poll, Charles Franklin, said that Wisconsin margins in presidential elections say a lot about the state. In four of the last six presidential elections, the results have been razor thin — like 45% Democrat and 45% Republican. “The 45-45 tie I think is pretty indicative of where we are as a state, very evenly balanced,” Franklin said in an interview with television station WEAU. “That comes through in the elections as it does in the public opinion polls.” Also, he said, Wisconsin has s continuing rural-urban divide.
