MILWAUKEE, Wis. —A Democratic state senator from Milwaukee, Lena Taylor, declared her candidacy for lieutenant governor.  If elected Taylor would replace incumbent Mandela Barnes, who is giving up the seat to run for the U.S Senate. Taylor would be the first first black woman lieutenant general. There are three Republicans on the other side, vying to be the running mate of whoever wins the GOP primary for governor. Together they would take on Democratic Governor Tony Evers and perhaps an Evers-Taylor ticket.
