ST. PAUL, Minn. – Chances are that your Thanksgiving turkey originated Minnesota, the state Agriculture Department reported. About 45 million turkeys from 500-plus farms comprised nearly 18% of the nation’s turkey supply, the agency said. The major producers:

> North Carolina: 34 million.
> South Dakota: 5 million.
> North Dakota: 1 million.
