POTOSI, Wis. – A Potosi man drowned swimming with his wife and grandchildren on a sand beach island on the east side of the Mississippi River. Mitchell Hochhausen, 63, had gone into the river to retrieve an item that had floated away. He was in about six feet of water when he went under, trying to make it back to shore. The body was recovered four hours later with side-scanning sonar.
