WABASHA, Minn. —   A Pine Island man, Michael Steven Molitor, 37, was charged for holing up in his Pine Island house over the weekend and holding police at bay for eight hours and firing off 20 to 22 rounds. The charges: First-degree assault on a police officer, second-degree assault, terroristic threats and committing a crime while wearing body armor. The charges were filed in Wabasha County District Court. Molitor was arrested after a SWAT deputy fired a pepper ball at him. The stand-off was in the Bach Estates neighborhood, which police had in lockdown or almost 10 hours

Many addresses

Over the years Molitor had many addresses in southeast Minnesota. Several times he was in and out of Winona,  mostly on West Mark Street,  and suburban Minnesota City. He also lived in Kenyon, Northfield and Prior Lake He bought his Pine Island House, at 105 Sprie Court Southeast, in September 2021. Winona court records show one arrest: In September 2009 for fleeing police in a car.
