WINONA, Minn. – A video camera recorded a man climbing on a statue, lighting candles and taking a rosary inside St. Stanislaus Catholic basilica on East Fourth Street on the near East End. An employee notified police about 9:45 a.m. While the complainant was stalking with police, Dylan John Michael Distad, 26, of Winona, walked in. Police reclaimed the rosary. Distad was cited for trespassing and theft.
