STPAUL, Minn. – The appointment of veteran Winona legislator Gene Pelowski as chair of the House higher-ed committer was confirmed officially by House Speaker Melissa Hortman. It was no surprise. In 34 years in the House, Pelowski has amassed as much expertise on Minnesota colleges as anyone. In announcing her structure for Democratic control of Housebeinning in January, Hortman also assigned Pelowski to three additional committees: Capital Investment, Rules and Legislative Administration, and Ways and Means committees.
