PAUL, Minn. — The faculty union for Minnesota State profs urged members to call on their representatives in Congress for legislation to help campuses affected financially the pandemic. “We must make it clear that Minnesota’s public higher education institutions will be an essential component of the pandemic recovery, but only if our campuses receive the necessary funding to stabilize and protect educational opportunities,” said Jonathan Bohnn, lobbyist for the Inter-Faculty Organization. “In addition, we must describe how important it is to provide state governments with the necessary resources to help balance budgets due to the economic fallout.” Bohn encouraged faculty describe sacrifices they’ve made for student success.
