MOORHEAD, Minn. – The faculty union president at Minnesota State University Moorhead is displeased about massive layoffs planned by the university. Matt Craig the cuts will weaken the university’s capability to serve students and the community. Craig promised to push President Anne Blackhurst to reverse at least of the layoffs. Under the plan 43 profs, who comprise 14% of the faculty, would be laid off, mostly next school year, some the year after. The layoffs include vacant faculty positions that would remain unfilled.
