PULASKI, Wis. – The superintendent of Pulaski schools, Allison Space, arranged mental health and grief counseling for students after a weekend homecoming bonfire exploded and at least 17 students were burned and otherwise injured. Space said the bonfire was not a sanctioned event and that police investigators would not be allowed to interview students on school time. Pulaski High has 1,020 students. The mood Monday morning was somber — in contrast to homecoming exuberance on Friday. In the homecoming football game, the Pulaski Hornets defeated Green Bay Prebble 62-14. The exuberance carried into the night at an out-of-the-way farm. The explosion occurred about 1 a.m. Sheriff’s investigators said some parents brought their kids to police in over the weekend to explain what they saw. “We’re just trying to piece it all together,” said Sheriff Adam Bieber. Nobody will be punished for being at drinking event, he said. Anyone with information or videos should come forward, the sheriff said
