WINONA, Minn. –Rose M. Kowles, 82, of Winona, who with her husband was known for remodeliling the abandoned Gilmore Valley Country Schoolhouse, died at the Adith Miller Alzheimer’s home. The schoolhouse was custom-furnished with early American furniture. She worked 26 yea rs at Saint Mary’s University, first in the library, then in the business office, retiring in 2000. She was the co-owner of Country Comfort Antiques.
