ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Exports of ethanol from the United States set an all-time monthly record in January according to the Renewable Fuels Association. Exported were 164.6 million gallons, 48% more than the month before. The top destination was India, 53.2 million gallons; China, 22.7 million; and Brazil, 17.5 million. The ethanol industry got hit hard during the Co-Vid pandemic when people drove less. A number of ethanol plants in the Midwest shut down.
