WINONA, Minn. – An air ambulance and a device to pry open wrecked vehicles were dispatched up West Burns Valley to a collision. The collision was halfway between Winona and Wilson during the morning commute period. The location: At Highway 23 and County Road 21, also known as Gilmore Valley Road. Traffic to and from Winona was diverted to West Gilmore Valley Road, which drops into Winona at Saint Mary’s University at the Far West End. Highway 43 drivers normally enter Winona four miles away at the Far East End.
